Phthalates are plasticizers that make flexible vinyl softer. They have been used in the production of vinyl products, including flooring, shower curtains, and children’s toys for decades. A recent ban of children’s toys containing phthalates in the EU and in California has caused a number of issues. Bans that pass in California, like Prop 65, usually gain momentum and move across the country. There has been an increased demand for non-phthalate products, including PVC and fabrics. (January 2009) Win Plastic Extrusions, LLC, a US-based extruder of rigid and flexible PVC strip, sheet, and panel material, has introduced the Static-Shield™, a new PVC material to meet demanding clean room and computer applications. Win Plastics’ newly formulated Anti-Static flexible PVC offers over a 50% increase in Anti-Static properties, setting it apart from other Anti-Static PVC products in the industry.

Win Plastic Extrusions’ proprietary Static-Shield™ compound offers a 52% greater surface resistivity and improved volume resistivity compared to other Anti-Static PVC products in the industry. These properties make the material ideal for clean room walls, partitions, and strip doors. Other properties of the Static-Shield™ include reduced static charge, exceptionally high clarity, UV stabilization, and compliance with the California Fire Marshal Code. David Rimbey Appointed as General Manager

Effective March 6, 2008 David Rimbey has assumed the position of General Manager for Win Plastics.

David brings with him over 12 years of manufacturing and management experience. His most recent position included multi-site responsibility for the extrusion operations of Ensinger, Inc. Prior to that, he spent 9 years in engineering management at Sony. At Sony, he received Six Sigma Black Belt training and won a Productivitiy Management Award.

In his new role, he will be focusing on growing the Win business. "I am excited to join a team that is known for its outstanding customer service, operational excellence and unsurpassed quality. With a mindset of continuous improvement and a commitment to bring more innovation to our customers, we will be able to expand our leading position as a supplier of flexible and rigid PVC materials." commented Rimbey.
